Jodomarin 200 is a white or almost white, round, flat-cylindrical tablet with a bevel and score on one side. Each tablet contains 200 mcg of iodine (from 262 mcg potassium iodide), as well as excipients including lactose monohydrate, magnesium carbonate, gelatin, sodium carboxymethyl starch, colloidal silicon dioxide, and magnesium stearate. Packaged in blister packs of 25 tablets (2 or 4 blister packs per carton).
Jodomarin 200 is an iodine supplement used in the treatment and prevention of thyroid disorders. Iodine is a vital micronutrient essential for normal thyroid function. Thyroid hormones regulate crucial bodily functions, including metabolism (proteins, fats, carbohydrates, and energy), brain function, nervous system, cardiovascular system, reproductive and mammary glands, and child growth and development. Jodomarin 200 replenishes iodine deficiency, preventing iodine deficiency disorders and promoting normal thyroid function. This is particularly important for children, adolescents, pregnant women, and breastfeeding mothers.
Pharmacokinetic data for Jodomarin 200 is not provided.
Jodomarin 200 should not be used in hypothyroidism unless caused by severe iodine deficiency. Avoid use with radioactive iodine therapy or suspected thyroid cancer.
